Exmoor is one of the truly wild and beautiful places
left in England. The Exmoor National Park covers 267 square miles
of Somerset and North Devon. Exmoor has a wide variety of dramatic
landscapes from small patchworks of farms to open moorland, sweeping
up to high sea cliffs.

Roadwater dates back to the thirteenth century. In the nineteenth century ore was transported down from the Brendon Hills. You can walk the old Mineral Line today.
Roadwater is the longest village in Somerset and Exmoor. It is part of the Coleridge Way Walk making Trinity Cottage an ideal b and b stop for those walking the route. Roadwater has a village shop, a garage and an excellent pub serving good food and ales. You can leave the car behind and enjoy a drink or two!
Natural woodland covers
one tenth of Exmoor, mostly in the valleys. Exmoor has England's largest
herds of wild deer and is also home to the wild Exmoor ponies. There
are many species of birds, including Grouse, Winchats, Stonechats
and Buzzards, as well as a host of other wildlife.
Exmoor offers something for people of all ages and interests. It is the perfect place for a walking, riding or cycling holiday with over 680 miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore. There is also river, sea and reservoir fishing.Wimbleball Lake is a short drive from Trinity Cottage providing trout fishing, sailing and windsurfing. |

is 3 miles from the coast and Blue Anchor
Beach. The open Exmoor moors and the Quantock Hills are a short drive
away. There are wonderful Exmoor villages and small Exmoor country
towns to explore. The historic Watchet harbour, Dulverton with medieval
bridge, Porlock and the quaint harbour of Porlock Weir, the thatched
cottages of Allerford, Selworthy and Bossington and Lynton and Lynmouth
which inspired Coleridge's poem "The Ancient Mariner". Tarr
Steps, Dunkery Beacon, Watersmeet and Valley of the Rocks are Exmoor
beauty spots not to be missed.
The medieval village of Dunster with old Yarn market, watermill and famous Dunster Castle are only 4 miles from Trinity Cottage. Cleeve Abbey and Torre Cider farm where you can taste Somerset cider straight from the barrel are just down the road. The Exmoor seaside resort of Minehead is home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. There is so much to do and see.

Self Catering Cottage in Exmoor

At certain times of the year Trinity Cottage is available for Self Catering. Surrounded by private gardens, the large cottage offers top quality self catering on Exmoor. On the edge of the village of Roadwater, within the Exmoor National Park, the cottage has beautiful views over the wooded, Exmoor valley. Private and secluded but only a short walk to the village shop and Inn (which serves excellent food.)
The Self catering accommodation comprises of : 4 bedrooms (3 doubles and one twin.) The master bedroom is en-suite. There are two other bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom. A child’s z bed and a travel cot are available. An extra single bed can also be placed in the lounge.
The large kitchen has a dining area and patio doors leading out to the patio, as does the lounge. There is a separate dining room.
